French Phonetics & Pronunciation Architecture
Pronounce French with confidence from day one. In our A1 course, we break down French phonetic mechanics so you never form fossilized accent errors.
Silent Final Consonants
Most final consonants (s, t, d, p, x, z) are silent in French, creating smooth word endings.
Nasal Vowel Contrast
Air passes through the nose and mouth simultaneously to produce distinct French melody.
The French 'R' (uvular)
Produced in the back of the throat near the soft palate, gentle and non-rolled.
La Liaison (Word Linking)
A normally silent final consonant sounds when the next word starts with a vowel.
